Because of their safe design, Warmrails can operate 24 hours a day at the factory set temperature, using less electricity than a regular light bulb! You can operate a Warmrail using a timer if you wish, but most people find the comfort and convenience of Warmrails so appealing that they run them continually. We do not provide temperature controls, since Warmrails are designed to operate to the optimum performance level.

With the system set to heat, when the set point temperature is raised or lowered past the room temperature, the thermostat will make a soft click sound within about 5 seconds. Usually the sound indicates correct thermostat operation. If the heat does not come on after raising the temperature and hearing the click, check the fuses or breakers, make sure the furnace is switched on, and verify the blower compartment door is closed properly.

Single pole thermostats break only one side of the power line to your heater and cannot be turned “off”. Therefore, power is continuous to the heater even if it is not running. The control knob will have a low temperature setting without an “off” position. Double pole thermostats break both sides of the power line; therefore all power to the heater is interrupted. The control knob will have an “off” position.

Yes. Some heaters have built in thermostats, but they can either be removed or inactivated. Remote thermostats can be located so that they are more convenient to adjust than the built in one. Located across the room from the heater, they will also insure that the heater runs long enough to heat the whole room. This is especially true in an odd shaped room where air does not flow readily from one section to another.
