Why is it so important to raise the thermostats in summer for energy savings?

Although these thermostats are relatively easy to install thanks to 2-wire non-polarized connections (TRIAC thermostats) and color-coded wires (four-wire thermostats), we recommend that our line voltage thermostats be installed by a professional because of the importance of ensuring a good connection in the wire connectors.

Yes. Some heaters have built in thermostats, but they can either be removed or inactivated. Remote thermostats can be located so that they are more convenient to adjust than the built in one. Located across the room from the heater, they will also insure that the heater runs long enough to heat the whole room. This is especially true in an odd shaped room where air does not flow readily from one section to another.

Low voltage thermostats should be used when the heater load is greater than 3,800 watts such as commercial heater (ex. Cadet CEH unit heater), or central forced air systems. Line voltage thermostats should be used for zonal heat systems such as electric fan heaters, baseboard heaters and radiant heaters. Cadet has a variety of options to meet your specific needs.
