Westside Wholesale Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the color of my lamp differ from other lamps of the same Kelvin?

All manufacturers vary slightly in color from Kelvin to Kelvin. Different bulbs also act differntly.  Have you ever seen some florescent lights start right away, while others flicker before they turn on?  Metal halide lamps require up to 100 hours to burn in set to the right color temperature.  Bulb specialists generaly recomend purchasing a meager amount of surplus replacment bulbs, when re-lamping an application.  This simply means that if you need 4 lights for your room, purchase 5 ort 6 bulbs.  Bulbs should be changed once the recommended hours have been completed, and not simply when the bulb burns out.
