My Kidde 120v Hardwired talking combination Carbon Monoxide & Smoke Alarm keep saying low battery. Where is the battery and what does it look like ?by Wilbert S. from lake wylie, sc on 10-13-2012
The battery is inside the outer case, you will need to un-secure the front face, and remove it to access the battery. Once the front face is removed, the battery will be in plain sight.on 10-15-2012
on the back of the detector a reset button is mentioned. where is it?by jamie D. on 08-06-2012
The test/reset button of the KN-COSM-IB is the round center button also known as the "HUSH" button on the face of the alarm (as shown in the product image above).
The test / rest button has four purposes. It tests the unit's electronics, resets the CO alarm, activates the HUSH features, and activates the Peak Level Memory Feature.
After Installation, test this unit's electronics by pressing and releasing the test/reset button. A series of beeps will sound, followed by the message "Fire! Fire!" then anaother two series of beeps and the message "WARNING! Carbon Monoxide" followed by 4 additional short beeps.
Weekly testing is required! If at anytime it does not perform as described, verify power is connected correctly and that the battery does not need replacing.Clean dust and other build-up off the unit. If it still doesn't operate properly, call the Kidde Consumer Hotline at 1-800-880-6788.

This product is offered in bulk packaging. Can you please explain what this means? Is it simply that each smoke detector is not individually packaged or is it something else?by Pat L. on 05-16-2012
That is correct, these items are in what is considered "contractor" packaging, and are in a bag instead of retail packaging. The prducts are new and unused, they are only in bulk packaging.
