About the Lutron CAR-15GFCIH-IV 15A Claro GFCI Receptacle – Ivory

The Lutron CAR-15FGCIH-IV is a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) safety outlet, which constantly monitors the electrical activity in a circuit to sense any loss of current. Ground faults occur when electricity escapes its circuit and uses a third party conductor to shortcut to the ground. When people are using power tools, small appliances, or light fixtures, this third party conductor is the often the human body and the results can be very harmful.
