Questions & Answers
I need a 3 way valve for a waterfall I'm building to split it between 2 waterfalls using 2 " sch40 piping. There are 3 valves that seem the same Pentair 263026 ($45), Pentair 263028($30), and Jandy 4717 ($51) that would seem to the trick but there is a big difference in price on some. Could you tell me whcih would be the best for me. The pump has a rating of ~15 psi and wouldn't be running all the time, and I live in PA if the temperature makes a difference. Thanks!
As long as the piping measurements meet the measurements of your waterfall, you should be fine with any 2" diverter from Hayward, Pentair, or Jandy. Designed primarily for pool & spa applications, these valves can handle high pressure, and are made of heavy duty PVC plastic. The difference in price can be due to individual manufacturer pricing. Additionally, the difference in price can be due to material (PVC vs. CPVC)
For example, thh Pentair 263028 (PVC - $30), Pentair 263026 (CPVC - $45)
CPVC is made using a chlorination process, making the material more resiliant to higher presssures and temperatures.
I recently had a Pentair Valve installed so I can drain my pool when needed, how exactly does this work, I was not home when this was done so I am not familiar with it, thank you.
We recommend contacting the installer for more information on the installation and how to operate your valve based on the installation.
Diverter valves can be used for many applications. Diverter valves are used to add an alternate outlet, which if installed for that purpose, can be used as drainage, or to route water to another source, etc.
