How to shop for a swimming pool slide
A swimming pool slide is an important pool element that provides great entertainment, relaxation and a lot of fun for both children and adults. Pool slides can be essential for commercial swimming pools that are installed in different high-end facilities such as hotels, resorts, fitness clubs, water parks and more. Nowadays, though, pool slides are popular in a residential setting as they add both aesthetical and commercial value to ordinary backyards. Modern pool slides are durable, reliable, safe and manageable even for very small children. In addition, they take not much area and are beneficial both for leisure and health.
There are a variety of pool slides available on the market today, differing in color and size. There are slides that are designed for in ground and above ground swimming pools, for very young children and for teenagers and adults. Pool slides differ by shape, such as straight, g-force, typhoon, x-stream, cyclone, turbo twister, water park style; left-curved or right-curved and by material such as made of fiberglass, plastic, concrete and inflatable pool slides.
Inflatable or blow-up slides are cheap, small and easy to install swimming pool elements, that are ideal for young children as they are not tall, soft and ensure cushioning against injuries. They are usually designed as a castle or cottage and have activity toys enclosed such as rubber ducts and so on. Other types of slides can deteriorate in poor weather while inflatable ones are easy to dissemble, it doesn’t take much place to store them and they are pretty durable.
Fiberglass pool slides are gentle on the skin; they require minimum maintenance and they are the healthiest option. Fiberglass is a very strong material; its surface is the most durable and never needs replacing. At the same time, fiberglass slides are the most colorful and good-looking slides among the permanent ones.
Plastic slides are usually confused with fiberglass accessories, but they are not so stable, durable and not so expensive. They are made from ultraviolet-protected plastic and designed for exposure to the sun and heavy-duty wear.
Concrete slides are durable pool elements, not expensive and beautiful backyard elements. At the same time, they can be not smooth enough, look not modern enough and they can be never moved or redesigned.
Regardless of what type, shape, color or application of a swimming pool slide you prefer, it should be installed firmly so that you can ensure the safety of the swimmers. It is not recommended to leave your children alone while they are using the slide, when they are swimming or even if they are just hanging out around the pool.
